Pizza, football and reggaeton, this is the winning proposal of the V edition of Telepizza Excellence Lab

The leading pizza delivery company completes the 5th edition of the Telepizza Excellence Lab University project, which this year has been led by the sponsorship between Telepizza and LaLiga.

"Replay", the winning proposal launched by the students of the University of Malaga, uses music as a key element in its strategy to connect with the new generations.

22 June 2021. - For the fifth consecutive year, the Telepizza brand is launching its Excellence Lab university project, a competition focused on fostering young talent and bringing new generations closer to the reality of business, mainly in the field of communication, marketing and advertising. The project, which this year saw the participation of more than 600 students from 19 different universities in Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Ecuador, culminated with the election of this year's winning team: students Daniela Sánchez Pinzón and Karen Sáncha Núñez, from the University of Málaga.

The 5th edition of Telepizza Excellence Lab began last January with the launch of a challenge to all participating students: to create, develop and present a communication, advertising or marketing campaign with the aim of raising awareness of Telepizza's sponsorship of LaLiga, especially among young people.

During the last 5 months, the students have participated in different mentoring sessions with more than 30 professionals from the sector, elimination phases have been held and 6 finalist proposals have been chosen which, yesterday, Tuesday 22nd June, exhibited their projects again at LaLiga's headquarters.

The proposal "Replay", carried out by Daniela Sánchez Pinzón and Karen Sáncha Núñez, students of the University of Málaga, has become the project selected by the jury of the competition. The members of the group came up with a notoriety campaign to publicise the sponsorship of both brands, using music. Under the insight "we always come back to what we like", they composed a reggaeton music hit, which represented the union between the two brands, thus communicating it in an original and effective way to young people.

After learning the verdict, Daniela and Karen, the winning students of the edition said that "participating in the V Edition of Telepizza Excellence Lab has been an incredible experience and we are happy to represent the University of Malaga", to which they added "it was a great challenge for us, we wanted to carry out a creative and differential project that would connect with the public. We are very grateful for the support we have received throughout the project from our mentors".

The jury that yesterday selected "Replay" as the winning entry of the edition was made up of 13 professionals from the marketing and communication sector: Ana Palencia, Corporate Communication Director of Unilever Spain; Gonzalo César Sáiz García-Vidal, Marketing Director Bankinter; Santiago Keller Sarmiento, President of LatinSpots and El Ojo de Iberoamérica International Festival; Olga de la Fuente, Director of FUNDACIÓN LaLiga; Kika Samblás, Founding Partner & Managing Director; José María Rull, President and CEO of DDB Spain; Lidia Sanz, General Director of the Spanish Association of Advertisers; Eva López Ruiz, Director of Global Brand and LaLiga Assets; Ximena Tapias; Executive President of UCEP and +CTG; Gorka Rodriguez, CEO of The Hub of Brands; Natalia Gutiérrez, Communication Manager of Food Delivery Brands and Paulina Parra, CMO of MULLENLOWE BEAT.

In addition to selecting the winning proposal, the jury assessed and advised from a professional point of view each of the finalist groups of the edition, which belonged to the Universidad del País Vasco, Universidad Europea Miguel de Cervantes, Universidad ECOTEC (Ecuador), Universidad San Pablo CEU, Universidad San Jorge and Universidad de Málaga.

In relation to the prize, the winning students belonging to the University of Málaga will have the opportunity to enjoy a training programme linked to the field of Marketing and Communication awarded by LaLiga, through its educational department, LaLiga Business School. In addition, the prize also includes attendance at a LaLiga match and a visit to the facilities of the LaLiga teams in Madrid.
