Pizza Hut opens a new location in the emblematic Plaza Mayor of Madrid
Pizza Hut becomes the only restaurant chain to have an establishment in the central Madrid square and continues with its expansion plan in Spain with the aim of carrying out new openings in cities with high tourist influx.
To celebrate its arrival at the iconic location, Pizza Hut is launching for a limited time the "Pizza Chulapa", a reinvention of the American-style calamari sandwich.
Madrid, 20 January 2022 - Pizza Hut is opening a new shop in the central Plaza Mayor in Madrid, one of the capital's most renowned historical and tourist sites, and announces that it plans to open around 3 more shops in the community in the coming months. This opening is part of Pizza Hut's strategic expansion plan in Spain, which aims to bring the 'authentic American pizza' to large cities with a younger population and high tourist influx, such as Madrid, Malaga and Barcelona, among others.
Pizza Hut's most 'traditional' location
The establishment, with more than 140 square metres and a 30 square metre terrace in the same square, makes Pizza Hut the only restaurant chain present in the capital's Plaza Mayor. A new establishment with which the brand consolidates its presence in the Community of Madrid, positioning it as one of the regions with the highest number of Pizza Hut establishments in the country.
In addition, customers of this new establishment will have at their disposal the Hot & Ready service with 3 varieties of pizza (American, Pepperoni Lovers and Supreme), a new type of in-store service with which they will be able to purchase an individual pizza, ready to eat while they explore the most traditional enclaves of Madrid.
Pizza Hut pays tribute to Madrid's gastronomy
To celebrate its arrival in Madrid's Plaza Mayor, the American brand, which has always been characterised by the authentic American flavour of its pizzas, is giving a nod to local gastronomy by reinventing one of its most authentic and representative gastronomic options: the squid sandwich. A limited edition pizza that has been christened "Pizza Chulapa" and will be available for 4 days, until Sunday 23 January, in this establishment.
Throughout the year, Pizza Hut will develop new products with ingredients that differentiate it in the industry, such as its cheese, with authentic American flavour, or the iconic Masa Pan, a thicker dough with bread flavour, which since its launch in the United States has become one of the brand's flagship products worldwide.
